Early March

First Signs of Spring

sold
Early Spring
8x10 oil

I just finished touching up this plein air painting that I did back on March 8th at Bee Tree Park.
Spring was interrupted by a cold snap that put an end to the Forsythia blooms and others that had just started to show their colors.  I'm glad I was able to get out to paint this when I did.

Kirkwood Farmer's Market

Fall at the Market

"Pumpkins and Bales"
8x10 plein air oil
nfs

Unseasonably warm weather today seemed out of place with all the fall produce and decorations for the upcoming holidays of fall.  It felt more like a hot, humid day in summer.  But the colors of fall were inspiring to paint this symbol of the season and that fall chill in the air soon to come.

Hot Breezy Day

Summer Breeze by the River

sold

The temperatures were in the upper 90's and the only bearable place to paint was under the main shelter.  There was a gusty wind from there but worth the cooling relief that it brought.  Looking across these willows caught my eye and the grasses in front of them were waving in the breeze.  I never noticed the heat once I started painting and finished up just as the wind calmed down.
