 Nature Preserve near me has the steps from the original owners home. It’s a lovely place to walk paths and enjoy the natural setting of a long ago home.

Found this drawing in a sketchbook from last fall.  I remember bringing this lilac inside to draw because it was becoming colder weather and knew it wouldn't last outside.  It was totally confused about the season it was supposed to bloom in!

 The Botanical Gardens has so much to offer for drawing practice.

This Osage Orange tree was huge and old with so much character.  While drawing I was joined by some Canadian geese who grazed the grass so close to me I couldn't resist drawing them too.

Backlit Pine

 A small Gouache painting of the view through the branches of a large white pine.

The spring greens of the grasses and the dark branches of the tree caught my eye!

 Drawing at the botanical gardens today.

Small pencil and pastel drawing in the Arid house.  Most plants were of the cactus family but I found these blooms near a bench and couldn't resist sitting down and trying to capture them.

Live models at Heartland Art Club for members to draw from.  These three were my best poses. The first one 15min. Next one 20 min. The last one was 2- 20 minute sessions. Drawing from life is the best practice.
